Default N/A Single shot exhaust/test pipe question

Just got my exhaust today and installed it today, but i have a question. I was installing the test pipe with the gaskets, and realized that my flex pipe is a 2", and the new exhaust is a 2.5". Problem is that the gasket's i received are both 2.5", and it doesnt fit on the 2" flex pipe. Is this how it normally is and my brother and I are just idiots that can't get it to work? Or was a wrong gasket sent? Or is my flex pipe aftermarket?

The way it is put together right now, the bolts hold together fine, but it leaks...a lot...from the flex pipe --> test pipe.

Edit, here's a video of what it is now, silencer out. Other than the leak I absolutely LOVE it. +1 for Terry

Do you have an aftermarket DP? The stock DP is just under 2.5" but the gasket should work fin on it.

Worst case your local parts store should be able to get you a smaller gasket for a couple bucks.

yeah i think it is aftermarket cause there are some horrible welds holding a flex pipe on. There's no way it came from the factory like that, so i guess i'll check on a gasket.

*edit* not necessarily an aftermarket downpipe, but a flex pipe not from the factory is what i meant. The person before me must have gotten it replaced, and they put a 2" on it.

Your local parts store should have a gasket to make them mate up. Worst case is taking it to an exhaust shop and having them put a 2.5" flange on your DP or just getting a new DP.

It's angled where it comes out of the rear to cut down on bends.

Terry, could you tell me how long your test pipes are? I bought a cheapo one from a member on here and it doesn't seem long enough.
