Default New short-block builder/supplier...

Just wanted to let everyone know that we have talked to Scott Merkel (Owner of the machine shop that has been building engines for Ray P.) about building all of our engines from here on out. We will have new pricing and information up on the site with the available configurations (3.0L / 3.1L / 3.4L Billet Stroker / 3.7L Billet Stroker) soon. The engines will be sold through IPS but will be 110% built and assembled by Scott M. and shipped out from him to your door.

Nothing is changing on our end as we never did any of the build/assembly before so we are simply changing vendors. We are not making the change due to there being any issue with the work or reliability of anything from Fowler Race Engines (Our local machine shop) but simply because perception = reality to most people and the current perception isn't great. Fowler will continue to take care of all our other machine work needs, just not our 6G72 engines we sell online.

If anyone has any questions or comments or concerns please post here or give me a call or send me an email.
Jeff

Scott Merkel does quality work. Just noticed your prices do not include a core charge! Last time I talked to Scott he was having a hard time getting good 4 bolt blocks.

Doug,
I have a note about the core charge in the part description but still need to add that in to the actual engine price today. Yeah, I never got cores back either so sourcing them has always been a PITA.

If we bring our core to Merkel can we avoid the core charge if we are close enough to drop off/pickup? I think I want to put a crower stroker into my car when I do the e16g install. Also my motor is a new mitsu shorty so I would rather have my own core used for the build.

Matts 3.4 liter is a Merkel En40/Pampena stroker. The Crower crank is an IPS endeavor with their own crank and the Pampena stroker is a Mitsu 3.5 crank heavily balanced.
