Default Dynoed my car again 971hp, and proved a point.

I felt that my draw threw ARC-2 with the STOCK rubber "Y" that the mass pushes into going to 2.5" intake pipes were realy holding me back, so I decided to test it.

I had come up with a new cam grind that falls in between my street and race grinds and thy had been sitting here waiting for me to test out. So I desided to install them and see if the power still flattened out right around 950hp like it was with the street cams.

My 1st Dyno pull was with nothing changed other then the cams. (and that it was 100deg this day in the Dyno room VS 85 deg the last time, and I now have nelson's Oil pump gears installed). The car made slightly more peek hp (963 vs 955) but it was just a blip, the lines prity much traced each other after peek power you could not even tell the lines apart.

So Next I pulled off the Air filter (even knowing that for sure the pipes, and the Y were going to be way more restrive then the filter was) and it made slightly more HP at 971 after getting the tune right for the Filter not being on the MAS (anybody that has ever pulled a filter off a Hot wire MAS knows it changes the tune) So the filter was a slight restriction, but the big one is still to be removed. It still amases me that the stock rubber "Y" that the MAS pushes into can even suport 971 hp, seeing how it was designed to only what 240 at the wheels?

OK time to try and set the ARC-2 up blow threw..... stay tuned

Good to see you proving a point and backing it up with useful numbers/info. Hopefully you are able to collect similar useful info when you get more extreme with your Arc 2 setup and intake.

p.s.

I have some 3" intake pipes with twin filters already made, I have a 80MM C&L MAS that is designed to be used blow threw, now I just got to find a good spot and cut my IC piping and install the mas. I ordered all 4 different calibration tubes for the MAS from C&L so I think no matter what I will be able to get the tune right.

man 29 more WHP and you are there. good to see you are still trying to make it faster with ARC-II. ohh don't put the mas in front of the tranny behind the radiator. i did that and it was hitting my shifting linkage.

Very nice.
Any way you can get the RPM instead of MPH on the graph?

Cool stuff! I'm curious to see how different tuning will be with a blow through setup, and how much more power you will gain.

How much more power do you think your cranked up 720's and meth can support?

Matt, how are you going to take care of your lack of fuel? I see your peak numbers requiring a lot more fuel. I hope you are not tempted to stay a restrictor plate racer

Matt, I have a gearing excel Spreadsheet that Frank @ turbomopar.com made.

There are a few things wrong with the original so the 5 speed tranny options (way at the bottom of the list) dont work on the original download but I fixed the spreadsheet so the 5 speed data works.

If you have microsoft excel I can email you the file. I will save it setup for your car. It also has the 6 speed tranny info.

You are making 900hp 626ft/lb @ 7550 rpms
You are making 950hp 907ft/lb @ 5500 rpms

You are making 700hp 813ft/lb @ 4500 rpms

Your motor goes crazy after 4000 rpms.
