Default dr 1XXX install

I had a question about the front intercooler/ turbo arrangement on the dr1K+ kits specifically the dr1300s. I noticed that the front turbo is clocked down is there any reason that I should not re clock it up? if I do not re clock it how to you suggest that I run the IC piping?

you clock it anyway you prefer your piping

also i dont know if you will clear the the hood with that big ass turbo header and wastegate in the way. I left mine clocked down for my smic,s and when i get my front mount this month itll be clocked down still

EDIT: i take that back, I had the driverside intercooler coldsidepiping above the front header so if you wanted to clock the turbo up and route your hotside above the header it would fit.

it would be better down. I'm not sure about fitment, but the heat from the headers will cook your hot side IC. my 16g turbos are like that and it gets so hot that i can not even touch it.

do it like how oohnoo has his piping routed, thats how my fmic will be routed. away from the header and my turbo will be clocked down. since i am not running sidemounts anymore, I will not have a pipe like that in the picture posted about running on top of the header.

It should not be hard to change your front PPE pipe to run under the car to were it "Y"'s together. I have converted both GT-pro FMIC's, and DN IC's to run that way using the Piping thy suplyed. You just need to cut a few of the pipes and weld a bead to them so the hoses will stay on. It's really not that hard, and you end up with a much cleaner look then it being over the top, and some extra pipe left over.

see how much cleaner it looks when run under

I'm not sure how the PPE piping Y's together on the drivers side by the oil cooler, but most of them are about the same you will need to just have it on the car and figure it out if you want to run it under the car. It should not be hard.

Another choice would be to sell your PPE kit and buy a ETS kit, there kit already runs under the car even for TD-04's.
