Yeah, thanks bluemax and Sean

But the thing is that cams causes you to loose low end for top end right?

I don't want to loose any low end as the turbo is laggy already.

What are the stock cam specs?

Oh, and while I am here, given the same boost pressure, cams won't cause you to knock because of more power does it? Does cams just make more power at a boost level?

I hope these get done before I put my engine together, which is about three more weeks.

Im new to engines so please bare with me

If you want to minimize lag, then your best bang for the buck is nitrous. The AEM can be configured to squirt a small shot of nitrous while your at low boost and then shut off at high boost. Ray Pampena ran his car this way very effectively. You'll just need a small "wet" kit.

Theres only one thing to do, hit the NOS button. Thats a perfect setup right there, the big power from a gt42 with a slice of help from some spray.

I suppose it might be easier to understand if you just think of it in the simplest manner.

Cams don't actually make any power. what they do is change the way your engine breathes. Cams affect the way air moves in and out of your engine.

There's actually a good thread in the Advanced tech section that you should try reading. It should most questions you might think of about cams and how they change the car's behavior. It explains how greater duration inflences overlap, and how this affects the airflow at low rpms and at high rpms.

To put it simply though, as has already been posted, 272's should be a good choice for a street-driven car with bigger turbos, and to minimize lag even more, you can always use a small shot of nitrous at low boost/rpms.

Do you know what car will be used for dyno testing? I'd like to see them on a TD04 car for sure.
