Well, I thought it was pretty standup of 3SX to offer free shipping for at least a month around the Holidays. That must have cost them considerably. I took advantage of it (2X), as I'm sure many other customers did also. So in that case, we got some of the "extra" shipping cost back that we paid during the rest of the year. Hope they offer it again next holiday season.

I wrote the original code and just pulled up my original copy to double check him on that . The rates actually decreased even more than 10% since the date of my local copy.

Personally, whenever I buy online the only thing I care about is the "total price", which is really easy to check from any page on the site (unlike some where you have to complete 90% of the checkout to find out shipping costs). They're all going to cover their expenses one way or another.

At least they're not charging tax, Apple.com charged me tax last week on an order shipped from CA to NC, wtf's up with that?

I think the prices of shipping should be build in the price of the item. Charging handling fees is a modern add on. its like in the hotels these days, clients get charged holding fees for packages they ship to the hotel and as long as customers keep paying for they are getting away with it. Non of these charges can be justified but yet they exist. It should be the cost of the business for doing business I think, you are selling warez , you are not selling shipping or handling.

Exactly one reason we don't like just tossing in an envelope and mailing it. Sure it's cheap to do, but then when an empty envelope shows up, are WE supposed to just give away another of whatever was the was squeezed out of the envelope in the mail sorters? And understandably why should YOU have to buy another one? It sucks when the service we BOTH depend on is not dependable - the solution that has worked best for both 3SX and our customers is to not use the post office.

And for those that mention insurance, yes the US Postal Service offers insurance. Has anyone ever TRIED to make a claim? Wow, what a farse and joke that process is. Basically, the short of it is, you can forget about any real recourse. In our earlier years, we did ship some stuff USPS, particularly overseas. Yeah. Uh. No. Not anymore. The USPS is NOT set up to handle insurance claims. You're still dealing with the same guy at the checkout counter. "Fill out this form and we'll send it in if we remember to not accidentally just file it in the recycle bin." But where it goes is a mystery, because they couldn't even give a phone number (other than local station) to call and follow up.

But alas, as was mentioned, we were able to cut rates recently. But unfortunately if you add an injector oring and calculate shipping, it's calculated as a pound box, UPS doesn't deal in ounces like USPS. We wish they did for the small orders!

So 3SX may NOT be the best option for buying a little oring or gasket, no doubt. But then again, if you have to drive 50 miles round trip to a dealership (there's not as manu mitsu dealers as ford or chevy if you haven't noticed! ) it's now costing 10 bux in GAS!!! DOH!

USPS is the way to go for things that either A. Don't need insured or B. Have a big warning attached. Mail sorters do a good job, but a few pieces of paper at best is what they were made for. A decently thick gasket will probably not make it through. I like the "double DVD" flat rate boxes, I think I shipped a cellphone with charger in one for 5$ insured

Anyway nothing is free, sure you may pay more for a package YOU WILL ACTUALLY GET, but theres a lot less hassle there and its less stress for both sides. Maybe in the future a new method for shipping small things will be found.

3SX has a near perfect track record with their shipping, its worth the premium.

Online businesses have to charge tax in any state they own a store in.

Ahhh....thanks for clarifying. I've always wondered why some companies did that.
