Re: Mitsubishi Brings 329hp FQ-330 Lancer Evo X to the U.K.
Do those prices include the tax? A lot of European countries have insanely high taxes, especially on vehicles that they deem to be luxury items. That may explain the prices on the three Evo trims.
Re: Mitsubishi Brings 329hp FQ-330 Lancer Evo X to the U.K.
I would not mind owning one of the FQ series Evo's whatsoever. However, I can honestly say that I would not pay that much more over the standard Evo just to get a few more performance bits that I could probably buy cheaper myself.

They meet every need that you could want in a daily driven car. Speed, handling, room for stuff, and they look sexy...not the X's though. They haven't grown on me yet.

My best friend just got his EVO X from cali last week. I gotta say that the front end is so aggressive, it makes mine look kinda soft. He does have the factory aero kit which helps alot too.
Such a fun car to drive!

Re: Mitsubishi Brings 329hp FQ-330 Lancer Evo X to the U.K.
I'm sure it's a fantastic car, but there are a lot of goodies when we start getting towards spending 60 thousand dollars. The base 2009 BMW M3 costs $56,500, has 420HP, and well BMW's may not be for everybody but the new M3 is a performer bottomline. I was tracking a beautiful 2008 Z06 Corvette, 6k miles, sold for $55,100. The Porsche Cayman S Coupe about the same. I would choose any of these over this EVO, but that's just me

Ah yes, I guess the Fq would be a bit much when you can get a gsr for 30,000, spent a grand and be at the fq400 performance....

How much are all of those cars in Pounds? (Particularly the Vette, since neither it nor the Evo are built in the EU.) All of these cars may end up costing well over their $US sticker in England.
Re: Mitsubishi Brings 329hp FQ-330 Lancer Evo X to the U.K.
Well I recently watched the Top Gear review of the Z06 and Jeremy Clarkson said "the best thing about it is its price. The Z06 costs 60,000 pounds(this was back when it first came out, exchange rate prices may be different today)." He then compared that price to the Ferrari 575, which is 160,000 pounds, and amazingly Clarkson went on to say that the Corvette was essentially a bargain, atleast compared to the Ferrari when using on a track. Top Gear consistently lampoons American cars so for them to make a comparison with a 160,000 pound Ferrari and not utterly crush the Corvette in a review tells you something!
