I got the loan for the car, and spoke to the guy and as soon as I get up there, if nothing is obviously wrong with it, and everything disclosed up front, I am going to buy it.

I like the way you think! Where you from? That isn't too far from where I got mine. Picked up my Spyder VR4 in chattanooga from a guy right off exit 5 (so I mean its a LITTLE ways, but considering the big picture not too far)
I am in Jackson Ms. I have always wanted a spyder, but they were always too far away and out of my price range. It's a little piece for me, but atleast I would not have to ship the car. I had purchased back in 2001 an eclipse spyder from Memphis, so I like to atleast stay in driving distance when buying a car, so that you can look it over first, as many do not disclose every little detail that can or is wrong with the car.

Ahh touche. Yea Im right there with ya. I drove from knoxville to Chattanooga like I said, exit 5, which was actually only just under a 2 hr drive if that.

You might want to call the guy back...
He called me yesterday looking for someone who he had already talked to. He said he just put brand new tires on it. The only thing that I'd look into was that it had been painted 2 years ago. These were notorious for clear coat issues, but it wouldn't hurt to make sure that's all it was.
My gut says he's a nice guy trying to sell a nice car. It sounded like his fater in law was the original owner and he even still has the window sticker.
