Myrtle Beach Gathering

Well, we planned CLT gathering MONTHS AND MONTHS before any sign of Blue Ridge was coming about...and now the BRG is the weekend after CLT.

And let's be honest, it's hard for anyone to go to back to back gatherings. It's tough on the pocket, it's tough on the body, tough to get off work, and in some cases tough on the vehicle.

So being the nice guys that we are we'll move our dates for everyone to be able to make both gatherings.

What was the Charlotte Gathering, will now be part of the Myrtle Beach Gathering.

Dates we are looking at are SEPTEMBER 11-13.

This is the weekend after labor day weekend. Kiddies are back in school so the beach is empty, rates are great, and it's still hot to enjoy the beach!!

Right now we're trying to get an idea of how many folks are interested so that we can hunt around the right hotel/motel to accomodate us. We're not asking for a definate answer now, but if interested please post up so that we can get a # to play with.

So plan on it....cause there ain't no ocean in TN!!!

Well....maybe 20 3/S's vs. 100k of bikes taking over the city is two different ball parks.

We shouldnt' have any issues....the only one that comes to mind is speeding/revving up and down the strip during a cruise. Other than that, we'll be on the beach most of the time so cops shouldn't be an issue.

^ no probs...i've been to a few bike weeks....i hate it...can't move a mile in traffic without sitting for an hour or two... Of course that was the sport bike week, the cruisers aren't usually a problem, but they have to play it fair and stop both events. I talked to some hotel & restaraunt owners about it and they're upset. Most of them depend on those two weeks for big revenue. They were giving out rooms on the strip for $25 a night during "what used to be bike week" because of the lack of business.

At any rate, I'm just looking forward to hanging with some 3/S owners and drinking some cold ones on the beach.

Alrighty guys, this is a pretty nice spot we've chosen. They have every type of room you want, oceanfront, sideview, or choose the main building off the ocean across the street. They have accomodated plenty of car clubs like ours so they know what to expect. Huge parking lot for us to park our cars, a large picnic area for a bbq, inside and outside pool, as well as a lazy river!!

As mentioned they have plenty of rooms, as well as 2 bedroom apts, and cottages you can rent as well. So those of you wanting to share rooms, or party in your rooms, the apts, or cottage is your best bet, plus they're not that much more than the room. Most will probably end up getting a room in the main building across from the ocean, so you're closer to your car. I've set it up so that each of you wanting to go can call down there, choose your room and pay for it yourself. They should have plenty of vacancy for us. After discount rooms/apts vary from $65-$110 depending what you get.

I'm thinking so, it looks like my car will be running. I'm just going to rebuild my rear turbo then after the meet go all out on the AWD and E85 conversion.
