Default Window Regulator

So I took the door panel off my newly acquired 3k because the window wouldn't go down. To much disappointment the regulator was torn to bits and the cables were screwed down so the window would stay up.

Point being I was wondering if anyone had a driver's side window regulator for a '92. I've seen new ones going for around 200$ (and that's what my mechanic said he's charge). If anyone has a new/used one that they'd be able to sell to me let me know please! Thank you.

PS: If this is the wrong spot in the forum for this post I'm really sorry I didn't see a more suitable one and I'm new. Be gentle.

Unfortunatley the driver side is the most coveted regulator. I will see if I caa help you find one. I found a used one on this forum for around $100 minus shipping.

When I attempt to roll my window down the motor turns but the window doesn't move. I took the door panel off to inspect and one of the regulator cables is screwed down so the window doesn't fall down. The other cable is just lingering about so I tied it down so it doesn't click around while I drive.

I took my car to Capitol Mitsu and they said I need a new regulator.

But perhaps I misread your reply and if so then yes. I would say you need a new regulator for your window. (Though I don't know your situation).

i think this thread has just answered my problem. my passenger window will not move. i removed the door panel and by a visible inspection, everything checks out. i cut the 2 wires to the window motor and hooked up a power drill battery, the window worked fine. the switch is good because i tested it on another window and with a multimeter. randomly maybe for a week, the window will work. then die again. could the problem be my window regulator, a short some where(or bad connection?). if anyone knows please, do tell.

thanks

I've seen many times in other vehicles where a power window wouldn't work, so I would hold the switch down as I slammed the door shut and the sudden impact would jar the motor enough to where it would start working again. Similar to how you can bang on the gas tank to get a fuel pump going again. This is most common on cars where the windows aren't used very often. It often means that the commutator of the motor has a bad spot on it. The motor will work fine as long as it never stops with the brush on that bad spot.

On my Stealth, ever since I got the car, the drivers side door lock switch would never unlock the doors, although it would lock them. I found a broken wire in the big harness that is between the door and the frame of the car by the hinges. 2 other wires were also on the verge of breaking. I blame this on the fact that whoever installed the keyless entry/aftermarket alarm in the car "poke-probed" the wires, thus damaging the wire's insulation and allowing the wires to corrode and break.

$35/hr labor. $55/hr if you help. $75/hr if you've WORKED ON IT BEFORE!
