I second the above question, Rit dye seems to be a very effective and inexpensive way to bring life back to OEM carpet, but where does a person buy Rit dye? Is it something that can be had at Hobby Lobby?

I did a quick search when I read this before it looks like you can get the powder dye at Walgreens. Someone above said they used the powder and it worked the same. I'd give that a try, its cheap enough if it doesn't take as well just find the liquid.

I did the same thing to mine about 2 years ago and it still looks perfect. As the above post said Wal-Mart does carry it and that is were I got mine. I beleive just about any groccery store carries it too at least everyone around here that I have seen. But ya this trick does hold up for a while too. Mine still look new except I needs to hit a spot or two that faded over time.

does anyone have pics of cars that dyed their carpet tan? if not does anyone have pics of tan seats with just a black carpet but tan headliner. how would that look you think. my carpet is really bad but i dont really plan on changing my seats anytime soon.

WOW! I'm definitly going to try this too. However, I was wondering if it would be better to dye faded black carpet into black instead of tan carpet into black or does it not matter? I currently have tan carpets. There is a Stealth with black/charcoal interior at the local junk yard and I was thinking about going to buy its carpet and then dye it if needed.
