so my girlfriend bought me a new racing steering wheel and hub for my birthday...yes shes great and buys my car things

but now to the question, i know im supposed to disconnect the -battery terminal so the air bag doesnt explode in my face, but my airbag doesnt work and my srs lights just burning up the dashboard, haha...so do i have to disconnect it before i try changing the steering wheels?
