Hatch Lid

I want to eliminate the hydraulic actuator that holds the hatch lid open, and know that just the passenger side one will not hold the lid open. Does anyone know if someone sells one that is stronger or if there is a way to double them up and put the two on one side.

What's the reasoning behind this? My only issue with the hatch struts is they're in a fairly dumb spot, so you can't reach the rear seat latches without getting dirty.

Putting them on one side isn't a very good idea because the hatch is probably not stiff enough to support the weight of the glass, and the glass may crack.
