Default Driver's Window Broken

Yesterday my driver's window made a loud pop when it reached the up (closed) position. Today I pushed the button for the window to go down, and I think the window fell down instead of going slowly (I'm not sure because I was watching the passenger window).

Now the window won't go back up. When I press the button for it to go up, there is still a motor moving inside, but the window remains stationary.

I'm not sure what's wrong because I haven't removed the door panels yet. I was thinking a bad regulator or the window came off the track. Any ideas of what happened or what to look for when I remove the door panel?

I took the door panel off and the metal wire has come off of the pulley. A piece of white plastic is also disconnected and I'm not sure where to put it. Does anyone have a diagram of how to put the wire on the pulleys?

Sounds like the plastic piece broke off. Do you have pics?

You can check ebay and get a refurbished one from regulatorsusa.

Hmm, normally, that plastic piece snaps in half.

Check ebay for the regulator from that guy. He gives 50 bucks for a core.

I believe the pulley rivet is supposed to help hold that plastic guide in place as well as the tabs on the sides. That is unusual it popped out of the track without being completely mangled/broken. Both mine were a wreck when I went in to replace them. As mentioned, Regulators USA out of NY is a great place to get rebuilt assemblies from for something like $125 (passenger) & $135 (driver) after the cores are sent in. He actually reinforces this section with a piece of metal and it really looks and functions nicely for the price.

That picture isn't mine, it's from the aluminum reinforcement plate webpage for regulators. On MY car, that white piece is completely broken off. Regulator USA is out of stock.

Good luck finding one. He will still give you 50 bucks for your old one, though.
