Default Anyone else get Inside of windshield foggy looking "film"

On the inside of my windshield I always have this "film" stuff on it and it makes it look like the windshield is fogged up. I have cleaned it off several times but it is always back in a day or two. If I try to wipe it with my hand it just smears. I know it is not just something in my car because my old SL had it too. Does anyone else get this and possibly has a solution?? One thought I had about it is that maybe the dash puts off some kind of fumes or something.

Thanks for any replies, this is only a small inconvenience for me but is VERY annoying.

It is chemicals leaching out of the dash, mine used to do it but it`s stopped now..

Dash gets red hot in the summer with the sun shining on it, don`t know if that has anything to do with it?.

what have you used to clean it? if it's plain ol windex it might not cut through any grease, you might want to try dish soap.

My car gets the same thing. An auto detailer I know says its the dash cleaner/protectant evaporating and sticking to the window. Put a window shade in your car. It should help keep the grime off the inside and protect your dash too

The best thing I've found to get it off is to use a wet chamois and a dry towel. I don't use any chemicals and the wet chamois has enough "grip" to get the film off and then I buff the glass dry with a towel. It works great but it also always comes back.
