Ok I am purchasing a 95 Acura Integra LS as a DD. I am buying it from a friend's friend's cousion. The claimed reason he is selling it is because he got an 06 Civic and no longer needs it. I highly doubt he is lieing about getting an 06 civic because my friend saw it in person.
Now as far as the car it is very clean. Exterior and interior are beautiful besides a small dent on the bumper. It rides very well. You can hardly tell it is a 95. No stumbling, no noises, no hesitation, survived a few 5th gear pulls with no problem. AC and everything works good. The only problem is I noticed oil dripping from the valve cover gasket. I coulden't really get under the car but I noticed the oil pan was a little wet as well. The car was only 1\4 qt low and oil he claims to only change the oil at regular intervals. Before purchasing I am planning to have my mechanic put it on a lift and check it out. I am a little concerned about that wet oil pan. Besides the fact that it may be an expensive to replace rear-main seal, I have already spun a bearing on my 3S!!! I do not want to be buying another soon-to-be spun bearing car, although it may be something as simple as a clogged PCV or oil pan gasket (I have heard hondas are known to leak some oil?? True??) Anyway heres the wierd part. I have had someone on 3si run carfax and turned up with this: Owner Two Vehicle History Purchased: 2008 Where: Florida Est. miles/year: --- Est. length owned: 2/25/08 - present (4 months) Date: Mileage: Source: Comments: 02/25/2008 108,854 Florida Motor Vehicle Dept. Fort Lauderdale, FL Title #0068809228 Title issued or updated New owner reported Loan or lien reported Vehicle color noted as White CARFAX Xpert If you are buying this vehicle from a private seller, check to be sure any associated lien on the vehicle has been paid off. Tell us what you know about this vehicle CARFAX Vehicle History Report I contacted the DMV about the loan thing and they said it is not a problem. The problem is look at the dates. Why would someone purchase a car in basically March and sell it in June? Is this wierd and a sign of problems to come, or is it legit and maybe he just bought this and then decided to get his civic? What is you guys oppinion. |

ive owned cars for a month or so until i had enough money to get something better, people get stuck in jams, or he could of just changed his mind
could of bought the car for real cheap too, and is just flipping it, i wouldnt be too worried as for the wet oil pan, find out if its oil or maybe just ground moisture, and CHANGE THE PCV valve, my friend had a gsr that blew just because of the clogged pcv
