While it may never run with modified TT's it is definitely worth it to mod your NA. Look around online at the MANY happily modified NA owners in the world before you listen to all these TT owners flaming because they think nothing but a TT is worth owning or modding. You will be very happy with your car if you do minor mods to it, just remember you don't own a drag car, just a quick DD. NA OWNERS UNITE! Report flaming TT owners on the new owner questions and don't put up with being told your car is not worth it!

thanks, i am probably going mod it, im just not going to go out right now and start droping shit in it like crazy. ill take it slower and try to find the best deals and whatnot. and you are right this wasnt meant to be a drag car, so it will be hard to get it to do something its not meant to do. i just want it to be quicker, and funner.

A BPU NA is not going to put down 200whp. The only way you are going to see numbers like that from a NA for any reasonable amount of money is N2O. To the OP: The best bang for buck modification you can make to that car is N2O its cheap and will see you well into the 14s. Other than that just put an exhaust on it so it sounds nice and call it a day.

Did you even read what I posted? I said a BPU as in Basic Performance Upgrades NA isn't going to make 200whp. I wouldn't say a full on shop race car falls under the category of BPU. NAs will never be fast without forced induction, increased displacement, or a completely rebuilt engine with upped compression and other goodies. None of these options are cheap and are mostly a huge fucking waste of money when you can pick up a TT in decent shape for $4,500. NAs are for looking good and having a quick car thats a bit of fun. Buy the right car for your goals from the beginning.

I'm not reading any post where Malaziel is flaming..
If someone recommends to you a TT as a better starting platform than a N/A, that has nothing to do with flaming. I understand how it is. If you go out and buy a car, it's a done deal and you feel like you might as well do something with the car you have instead of looking for other options. We're simply recommending knowledge we know from other's experiences. I know plenty of people (including my brother) who have gone down the "I don't want a TT I'm gonna mod my N/A" road, planning to try and supercharge it or do a TT swap because it's more unique, and I don't know one person personally that has succeeded. Yes there are plenty of people who have successfully done it, but it's not necessarily an easy task. Hence, when we recommend a TT as a starting platform, it's just pointing out the easier option. We're not flaming, just pointing out the obvious. But if you are attached to your car or determined to be different and mod your N/A, then don't listen to what we say, and go for it. We simply make recommendations.
