Default Torque value of axle nut?

I have a 92 Dodge Stealth base model and am in the process of putting the passenger side cv axle back on and need to know the torque value of the axle's castle nut. Anybody know?

3rd for 166

Of course my torque wrench only goes to 150 so I just push a bit after it clocks for 150.

I'm a big fan of torque specs, but this is one that I don't even worry about. Y'all can say 166 all you want but it really doesn't freakin' matter... get the damn thing good and tight, then make sure the notch in the castle nut lines up with the hole in the shaft so you can put the cotter pin in.

It may take more than 166, or even a little bit less, but as long as it's good and tight and the notch/holes line up, that is really all that matters. It isn't like it has to be torqued to keep it from backing off... thats what that big freakin' pin is for.

Yeah but if you're gonna put it on you might as well torque it. Takes an extra minute maybe to set the torque wrench and put the socket on it.

What I am saying is that after you torque it, it will NOT be set to put the cotter pin in, you are most likely going to have to change it anyway, so what is the use. There are torque specs to sweat the load over, but this isn't one of them.
