Default Tail Light Short

So my new car has a few issues, first i figured out my battery wasnt actually secured, thus allowing it to move forward and contack my hood... VERY bad, melted a hole or 3 on the underside of my hood. Thats an easy fix haha not too worried about that.

New problem would be that my tail lights and all things connected to that fuse do no work. Popped the fuse, replaced the standard 15A with a 20A put it in and they ran for lets say 30 seconds then it failed popped it. So its obvious to me I must have a short somewhere in my system, I just have NO idea where to start looking for it... so thus I bring this to you guys, I am sure somebody has heard of this or maybe its a common problem... I am taking any suggestions right now... another error is that my dash lights do not work, maybe its related maybe not.

Thanks again guys

Dave

Default Re: Tail Light Short

AFAIK, the problem you described is not common and replacing a fuse with one of a higher rating is not a good idea. Your best bet is volume 2 of the service manual.
