Default Is the stock exhaust on the sl 2.5"?

If so what would be the point of getting an aftermarket exhaust if you have no engine mods? What would be the point of dropping 800 dollars to get a 3" exhaust which dosent really do anything for you unless you have a turbo, etc.

There is no point to getting a 3 inch exhaust for a non-turbo car, you would hurt your bottom end.

3sx long run headers or downpipe, a test pipe, and a nice cat back keeping the stock pipe diameter will do WONDERS for the n/a though.

2.25" stock
2.5" will be fine for NA, however if you plan on doing a TT conversion in the near future you might as well get a 3" exhuast anways, as the extra diameter isnt going to kill you

Yep ^^

It's not only the diameter that helps, but mainly the bends. The stock downpipe doesn't flow well at all (take a look at it lol) and there are a lot a unnecessary bends through the exhaust.
