Default Removing the dead pedal to replace carpet?

Got everything out except the dead pedal. It has what looks like 2 screws, but they spin endlessly and never come out. I can hear one (the lower one) click every full rotation.

Are the screws plastic and stripped or something? How do I remove that dead pedal?

Thanks!

They're not really screws, just grommet kinda thing. Pop it out and there's a real screw behind it

Haha, yeah, just had the same "problem" like 3-4 days ago. Use two flatheads to pop it out gently and carefully. (I believe the nut behind it is a 10mm)

Haha, oh man, and I just took off the center console carpet on both sides on both VR4s and dealt with those grommets.
