Default question about rebuilding 3000gt engines and transmissions

Why do I see so many 3000gt with rebuilt engines and transmission at only 100,000 or so? Isn't that pretty low mileage to have to have the engine and transmission rebuilt?

+1 The majority of these cars seem to be driven hard and not maintained well which leads to them needing to be rebuilt way before they normally would. Assuming that you take care of the car and don't beat on it all the time there's been numerous people that have made it to 200k before needing a rebuild.

230,000+ but now I've started making it go a little faster and I can see how someone could break it before it's time. 400+ just naturally increases breakage of 300+.

Curious, why did you rebuild if your car was running like a champ?

Two words.... OD FRAUD

The engine in the 3kgt is quite good .. 200,000 miles is normal , and thats under hard use.
My NA is 14 years old .. uses no oil and runs and revs as smooth as a Lexus

Funny only in North America are 3Kgt's worth nothing used ...They are a prem buck every where else ...ie Europe , Australia

That might be true for an N/A, but on a VR4 200k definitely isn't normal, especially if the car was ran extremely hard.
