Default New Owner

Hey Guys just got my first 3000gt vr4 yesterday.

The owner was kinda vauge i guess he wasn't the owner it was his aunts or something lol i don't know he wasn't really a car guy.

The car come with an extra set of wheel we had to get them from his dads garage and after getting his hands dirty he wanted to wash them before
jumping back in his bmw it was kinda funny he was a really nice guy tho.

Anyways a lil about the car

Shes a 1992 (April make) vr4 about 140k miles.
All the Electronics seem to work the car is missing the stereo i guess it was stolen.
Owner wasn't sure when last tune up was done and the car has a power lose problem at around 4-5k rpm i guess he was told by dealer that it needed new spark plugs.

anyways car runs great until 4-5k range on rpms.

But i plan on changing the plugs and seeing what happens, and while i have the engine part way apart i plan on just going all the way and doing the 120k tune up i was looking at the set offered on IPS Motorsports iv been trying to do some searching around for price ranges and stuff but no one really seems to have a OEM kit set up like this site and i was wondering if $574 is a good price and if anyone has bought this kit and if there is anything else i should consider picking up while i have the engine all in peices.
The spark plugs i plan on getting which IPS also offers is the NGK pfr6j-11 sparks plugs for around $70 i was thinking about picking up a whole new set of ignition wires but cant seem to find an OEM set anyone have any ideas on what i should pick up Thanks for any input.

Any advice on doing the 120k tune up would be appreciated.

Kyle

First off, welcome to 3Si. Second, post some pics.

I can't offer much help in the way of the kit. You might check with Rockville Mitsubishi as well. If you get the 120K done and it doesn't fix your problem, you might check the ECU.

I remember seeing that car on Autotrader or Ebay a few weeks ago.

Wasn't it listed at like $5000 or something.

No shit!! Dude, that's awesome! You stole that car from him.

Do the 120K, change all that you listed, if you are still having troubles with the hesitation, come back. We'll all help in getting her running right for you!

Welcome to the 3/S world. Sharp car man!

You can check the parts for sale to find a factory stereo to fill that hole unless you're going aftermarket.

Good luck with the maintenance.
