Default I'm too excited for this! I have just a couple more questions

Hey all! It's Mike again. I did some research on the car I was looking at ('95 NA 80,xxx miles) I spoke with the previous owner and the accident on the carfax was from a side impact that knocked out his passenger side door. Had the door replaced and the car painted afterwards. Found out that the paint job was a cheap job and that's why the paint is beginning to fall off. So, the belts were replaced, still not sure about the water pump. Might have to take a weekend with someone and double check everything.

So, it looks like were good and ready to get this car! Now, once I do get the car I need to get a paint job and would like to change out the exhaust. I saw this link (Maximal Performance - Maximal Performance 2.5" NA Single Shot Exhaust) and it sounds like the cheapest and best way to go for the money at least. One question for that is will the car still pass inspection? I hear that PA emissions tests are a little more strict than other states but I'm not sure. I don't wanna go out and buy it then not pass inspection.

Also, judging by the size of your cars, how much (ballpark) do you think a full body paint job will be? I'm not experienced in painting so I would have to take it somewhere. I'm willing to wait the couple of weeks but don't know how much paint jobs run, what did you all pay? Thanks again and I'm sorry this is so long.

Thanks again for everything everyone. You have led me to buy a car I think I will be very happy with. Thanks again for the help now and in the future...goodness knows I'll need it. ;-)

i never modded my N/A when i had it. but as far as maximal goes ive really heard nothing but good. and ive heard great things about that exhaust too.

the N/A cars get a bad rep because they are FWD and all. but they can be a fun, puppy, reliable car. and they look good too.

good luck with your purchase. make sure you post a bunch of pics

My car doesn't need a paintjob but I asked what it would cost while I was at my favorite shop and they said about 3-3500, and they have better body work then I have ever seen in my life.

Cool guys thanks a lot for the responses. So it's going to be roughly 3k...Might have to wait until next year to get then...but that's ok...How about the exhaust? Any fail emissions for getting the maximals? They seem decent for the price...

I was just in the body shop yesterday to ask about paint. Just the front bumper I want to get painted was 300-350, and I was told paint jobs start at about 2000 and go up from there depending on how much repair work needs to be done, what kind of paint, whether its a repaint or a whole new color...etc.

As long as you just change the portion of the exhaust behind the main catalytic converter you should be fine. Judging from the description maximal gives I really can't tell if that one eliminates the main cat are not. If you pm him I'm sure he could tell you.

His screen name is maximal. I'd suggest buying the car before you start buying things for it though .
