Talking I got a new 3000GT today!!!!

1999 base, automatic, black with a tan interior. [pics coming soon]
Right now its actually in the repair shop to get a wheel bearing and the oil sensor replaced, but those appear to be the only issues.
If you guys could give some advice on some of the mods im looking to get done, that would be helpful.

1) Rims/wheel covers- I would love to put a nice fancy set of rims on my new ride to replace the stock ones, however having just bought the car and already having to pay for repair bills, the funds are probably not going to permit that. Therefore, Ill just have to settle for a cheap set of wheel covers. If anyone knows of some half decent looking covers, please let me know, because I'm not too fond of most that Ive seen.

2) Seats- in the coming months, I think I would like to put in a couple Cypher Auto seats, however Im not sure if there any brackets available for those, or if I could mod some to fit or what...

3) Headlights- The stock ones are pretty weak, so in a month or two I think Ill upgrade to some Halo ones, that seems pretty straightforward.

Anyway Im thrilled to have my first 3000gt, and if you have any advice/suggestions, I would greatly appreciate you posting them. Thanks.

First of all CONGRATS on the purchase! Exciting stuff, isn't it!

My advice for your wheels is craigslist. You can pick up decent rims pretty cheap on there if you look hard. Even "decent" rims are better than wheel covers. Your car doesn't have rims on it already? I've never seen a 3k without at least factory rims.

This is what it has stock:

Im pretty sure theyre wheel covers not rims, either way I wouldn't call them fancy...

Edit: pic is not of my car, just a random one from google.

Those are the stock rims that came on that generation. I really like those. They're definitley not wheel covers. Where are you at? I'd trade you for my stock 93 wheels.

I'm in Charlotte, NC. I might be up for that trade, but the distance is a little far.
So they arent wheel covers, does that mean I can't put any on there and I just have to buy new rims?

No those aren't wheel covers, don't think a 3S ever had wheel covers. I've got some nice NA wheels when you're in the market. Congrats!

Yeah. I'm a new owner too but I looked at several 3rd gens (before I settled on my two 1st gens) and I'm almost positive those are not covers. They're alloy wheels. If they were covers the wheel weights would be on the rim underneath them.

I really doubt you can put wheel covers on rims but perhaps a more experienced member will follow this up and give you some better advice. I've found the other members here to be awesome when it comes to helping each other out. Especially us newbs.
