More Than Meets the Eye

The text of my instructions does not elaborate on which pin. However, the graphic does. It shows exactly what you're doing (as viewed from above).
My mod is not a "shove a wire in" type mod. That's exactly the kind of mod I don't like. What you're doing in the underhood phase of the rewire is using the parking light circuit to provide a + trigger for the fog relay. This trigger is normally powered by the headlight circuit. That's why you tape up the other half of the wire you cut - it's still got juice when the headlights are on. Note that since you're powering just the relay, it's only a .5 amp draw and not the whole 15 amp draw of the fog lights. The interior part, at the switch, provides a constant ground to the fog trigger. This is normally supplied by the high/low dimmer switch and ground is removed when you go to high beams. Giving the switch a constant ground source means you decide when the fogs are on by using the switch. pensfan83 - Yes, I need to add a note that the diagram is as viewed from above. I've been meaning to do that. The two lights you lost aren't involved in the circuits you've rewired. My only guess there is the bulbs. You did it properly - it's all to be done from the underside. The instructions for giving the fogs their own voltage supply will require pictures. My brother has a digital camera so I'll document the mod soon - perhaps on the next car I wire. And yes, anyone interested in making the drive to Milledgeville, GA, I will do you lights for you ![]() You can check out our shop at http://31061.com/bestauto
