Default How do i adjust idle (PICTURES)

Well i went to this muffler shop to get my exhaust leak looked at and this guys came up after loading my car up to the hoist and told me i should adjust the idle because its way too low... (which explains alot) So he put some Oil or liquid spray on it and said here - this is where it is just adjust it.... then started asking me about my car.. it was cool but i want to make sure i adjust it right and dont fuck up- i took some pics of the area- if someone could edit them and use some arrows and tell me what tools i should use and how much i should adjust it would be great.... i think i want it set about 900-1000 rpms so it sounds kinda mean...especially with exhaust leak LOL- at stops anyways here are the pics thanks alot!!!!

there's an idle adjustment screw on the front side of the throttle assembly, under a rubber cap thingy (unless it fell off). crank it around a little while the car is running.

Right at the red arrow. If I remember right counter clockwise will raise the idle and clockwise will lower your idle... good luck.

Does it need to be greased or anything?

I was about to ask this same question.

OKay, the lowest I can get my idle is 1,5 which is better than the 2,2 it was at.

Any suggestions?

Make sure there is slack in the throttle cable to assure the the throttle plate is completely closed. Before adjusting the screw- ground the timing connector at the passenger side shock tower/firewall area. This will set the IAC and the ignition timing to a base setting. Once your there- then adjust the screw in or out to set your base idle speed. Good Luck!
