since it's pearl white, you actually need 3 stage paint (white, pearl, clear)-it sounds like they gave you the wrong paint...
although the pearl layer by itself would be a silvery-looking paint-is it possible they only gave you one of the three stages?

Theres two different colors in the W29, the white base and the silvery/grey/blueish pearl, which is just some random ass color they made applied very thinly over the white base.
Getting an accurate touch up paint would be very very hard and u may be better off just using the white base to touch up since you would have to actually spray the touch up in order to get the right effect on the paint. Jason

Does your paint suck?
|
Do you happen to have the color code for that? Would be an awesome find, i have some touch ups on my bumper, but really dont want to sand down, prime, paint, pearl, and clear my whole bumper to cover a spot the size of quarter

went into the basement, found: a qt. of Plum Crazy (my Duster) a 1/2 qt. of Corvette yellow (my '66 mustang), a pt. of GM silver (no idea) and a qt of some Caramel color (my dad's cordoba I think) But I finally found it in the closet where all my waxes and such are: it's '86 Dodge Crystal White, the can I have is PPG and the guy that mixed it for me wrote 3712 on it, but I don't know if that's the code or not. btw, the repairs I have used it for, I'm talking about using a toothpick to fill chips on the front end... anything bigger and I'm sure you wouldn't be happy with the results (I'm sure I wouldn't be, anyway ) |
