Default Help with Tein coilovers...

Hey,

I just bought a '94 VR4, which has Tein Flex coilovers. The car currently sits almost 2 inches lower than my stock '92 SL, which barely clears getting in to the parking lot here at my apartment at school. During the winter months I will have to have the VR4 lifted to stock ride height to get it in the parking lot.

What does it take to adjust the ride height? I don't have a lift or anything, but I do have a floor jack and jack stands. Also, I know that I will need to get it realigned, but will it be safe to drive for a few miles at least before getting it realigned?

Thanks.

It should be safe to drive a few miles just make sure to hang on to the steering wheel pretty tight because depending on how far off it is it could potentially pull on the steering wheel pretty badly. You'll also be wearing the tires on the outer edge a lot more than the inner edge so I'd try to get the car re-aligned as soon as possible after raising it.

Thanks, yea I would just be driving it like 5 miles or something, just to get it to the shop...rather not pay to have it towed.

Does it take any special tools to raise the ride height? Can it be done with a floor jack?

Thanks for any help.

Does adjusting Teins Flex require removing....

Alright after reading this thread I think I know what I need. Looks like I need one of the wrenches that come with the struts which I don't have...seen in this picture...

Anyone have one or know where I can get one? I might be able to get one from the guy I bought the car from.
