No, they didn't there weren't dealer upgrades to 13gs offered in Japan. Also despite being listed at 280hp JDM TTs actually have slightly more horsepower than their USDM counterparts due to their lack of precats.

Well if you read my explanation then it would make sense. I jumped the gun and wrote down a quick blur before I went to sleep, my bad...

Not (necessarily) true. I *think* the Z15A comes without 4WS? There are difinately Z16A N/A's though.

The more research I do, the more I'm leaning towards an MR. All the Twin Turbo, AWD goodness of the regular GTO, but without the ABS, AWS or Active Aero/Exhaust. Not only does that mean less maintenance and cheaper repairs, but also less weight, which as we all know, is an issue with the GTO. Plus, being a quick daily driver and not a track star, I don't particularly need that stuff anyway....

I will also correct you to say that JDM GTOs do come with leather, as I drive a black one with leather myself.

And devan, I have a GTO here in BC also. I'm doing some cosmetic restoration (ie: paint is faded as is very common on the 1G GTOs), but will be putting it for sale once that's all taken care of. It's in extremely good running condition, just over 60k miles... has all the 60k maintenance done, including timing belt, water pump etc.

RHD around town isn't too bad, although you'll turn the windshield wipers on a few times when you mean to hit the turn signal... And yeah, not only are the shift boots backwards, but the e-brake boots are too...

Oh, also... you won't see any 1994 GTO's until 2009. They've just started bringing over 1993's this year, so you won't be seeing a 2nd gen until next spring at the earliest. R33 skylines should start to appear (legally) sometime this summer, as well as MKIV twin turbo supras. The supras are pretty damn expensive though since so many people in the UK steal them up from Japan apparently...

I stand corrected on two counts then, I was under the impression that all of the J-specs were cloth only and I forgot that MRs fell under the umbrella of Z15

no worries, ive read that the jdm seats (across the board) are less comfortable than what went into all 3000GT specs... i dont have any experience outside my GTO to confirm/deny this though...

i need to find out more about that actually, since i want to recover the seats and there are some in the classifieds that look quite tempting... but not if they wont fit over the GTO seats... out of curiousity, while we are comparing US/JDMs, do 3000GT seats have power side supports that can adjust the width of the seat?
