You don't take the boost solenoid off to do the free boost mod. You disconnect a hose and take out a rubber stopper with a hole in the middle thats in one of the solenoids holes.

Um...yes? That little plug was left out in later models. Pop it out, and enjoy your extra HP.

Actually it has not been left out in later models; many members report to having the restrictor on 94+ models; I am certainly one of them and had it in my 99

Default HELP!! Free boost mod

Hello, I have a 99 3000GT Too, and when I have seen into the solenoid, I have seen that my cars has the rubber stopper too!, So in 99 cars it will not have to be there no?
But the problem is that I have removed this limiter (or rubber stopper), and mounted everything like it was, butr without the rubber stopper, and when I drive the car, I discovered that the car doesnt seems to be faster. I would feel q few punch loss at 2.500 rmp, very few, and I would feel a little little more punch on higher revs, but is as small as i cant appreciate, in fact, iīm not sure that it was real.
Whats the problem?
1) Does my car have the two air hoses exchanged? I think not, because the hoses are different due to a marked lower hose. And if they were exchanged, the car will runs horrible, isnīt it?
2) Are there any other things that a 99 car has to do to make effective this free bost mod?
I think that i have to feel it more powerfull not?
Thanks for your help.
