The part on the door is called the door cap. It is removable and swappable, just like the side skirt.

Thanks for answering all of my questions so far, and guess what, I have more

1- What about the rear bumper if I got a 1 gen, and I wanted a 2 gen rear bumper would would I have to do? Anything besides replacing the bumper itself?

2- The 2 gen has 20 more hp than the 1 gen (AWD TT) where does that extra hp come from? I think I saw something that said that it had something to do w/ the turbo or something, but I forgot where it was at.

3- If I got a 1 gen could I swap out the 5 speed for the 2 gen 6 speed no prob?

4- I want the 4ws, so if I get a 95 or 96 which supposedly doesnt have it, how hard would it be to install it?

5- Which gen should I get? I want to haul as much ass as possible, probably do an engine swap, beef up the suspension, ... pretty much everything I can possibly replace, its going to be my next project car

there is one other question but I forgot what it was, heh guess I should have named this thread "a lot of questions" instead of "a few questions"

I remember now:

Whats the deal with these two cars? They from different manufactures yet they are so similar

I'm 99% sure that you can just bolt the bumper from a 2nd gen to a 1st gen without modifying anything else.

It comes from a restriction in the boost solenoid that was removed on the 2nd gens giving them a little bit more boost. You can do this to a 1st gen as well following these simple instructions from stealth316.

It takes a fair amount of work, but it definitely can be done. Check out this page on stealth316.

I'm honestly not 100% sure what all would be involved in swapping it into a later gen, but personally I wouldn't worry about it, as it really doesn't help the handling very much.

It really depends on what you want, each person you ask this question is going to give you a different answer as they all have their pluses and minuses. Personally I'd choose a 1st gen if you're planning on replacing everything anyway, because the initial cost of the car would be less and you can easily buy upgraded parts to replace anything that was weaker on them anyway.

They're only from different manufactures by name, mitsu built them all and then dodge through their name on the stealths.

There's either something wrong with that car that they're not disclosing are it's a heck of a deal, as that cars probably worth twice that if it's really in as good of a condition as they make it out to be. If you go after it, I'd highly suggest trying to get a mechanic to check the car out before you buy it, as the price makes me very suspicious.

errr ... what?

Ive never had a turbocharged car before, so when checking one out (like the ad I posted above) what are some things to look for?

Also, what a good website to find used cars in the GA area? the ones I know of are: Auto Trader, Craigs List, Cars.com, and News Papers
