First off, when I log on to a forum looking for answer to my questions, words run together and I cant find crap, so sorry if anything I ask has been asked an answered before
Anyways Im in the market for a AWD Stealth, and I was just wanting to know the differences between the two gens, I found a few things and I know the basic differences but I would like to know more before I buy one:
1- The body kit I want to get is supposedly only for 94 - 96, I was wandering what is so different between 1 Gen and 2 Gen bumper wise? Are they that different? Can I put this kit on a 1 Gen?
2- I saw somewhere that they are 4ws above 30mph I think, is that true?
3- I know the Stealth and 3000GT are practily the same car, but how similar are they? Can I get parts for a gt (Wheels, Suspension parts, Engine parts, etc etc) and put them on a Stealth no prob?
4- Where can I find the nitty gritty specs for AWD Stealths? Gear ratios, Dyno Sheets, etc etc
5- What does 3si mean? I feel kinda stupid asking this one.
Just look at pics of 1st and 2nd gens for the difference. The most obvious is 1st gens have pop up headlights. The radiator support and headlight buckets are different as well, and the front bumpers follow different lines.
the only difference between GTs and Stealth are bumpers, lights, sideskirts and door caps, some bumper mounting hardware, rear 1/4 windows, sail panels, and some other items (such as active aero, spoilers). Everything engine, trans, suspension and drivetrain wise is the same.
3si means 3000gt/Stealth International. just so you know 3S is 3000gt/Stealth

The main difference is that in 94 they started using projector headlights instead of the pop-ups that the 91-93 had. Check out this thread for some more information about what is needed for the conversion.

Yeap, at least somewhere in that general speed range.

Wheels - Absolutely the same
Suspension - The same depending on trim, suspension parts very even between different 3000gt's though.
Engine - Absolutely identical, everything should transfer as long is your using the equivalent engine. There's basically 3 engines in these cars to watch out for. SOHC, DOHC, and DOHC TT.

Check out this site it's got about the most comprehensive specs sheet that I've seen. I'm sure there's factory dyno sheets somewhere, but I've never seen them before.

If I get a 2 gen, how difficult would it be to get the side scoop from a 1 gen on there? Could I replace the doors and such no prob?
What exactly are you referring to when you say side scoop? Are you referring to the fins behind the doors, if that's the case then that's called the sideskirt and it's a fairly easily removable part that can be directly swapped between generations.
Check out this thread for a little more information. They did half to do a little cutting, but that's for swapping a stealth to 3000gt which I don't think you'd half to do just going between to different 3000gt generations.
a side scoop was the best term I could come up for it but it looks like its part of the door too not just the skirt, thats why I was asking
haha, definitely not part of the door, if you look at the link that I provided in the other post you can see pictures of what it looks like with it off the car.
Not trying to sound like an ass, argue, or anything like that, but are you sure? the skirt is off the car yet some of the scoop fin thing is still there on the door, I want the whole shebang
