Default Electrical problem in my Bro's car.

My brother wanted me to ask you guys about his current audio problems. He's got a JVC head unit with 2 kickers and 1k amp in his Integra. Now recently his car has been cutting off randomly, his power locks were tweaking, his radio was shutting off and on and the head unit gets very warm.

He's gonna take it to get fixed , but before that he wants to know whats wrong. Any Ideas? It sounds like a short or a bad battery, mine was doing that but that was due to my battery not getting charged.

Default Re: Electrical problem in my Bro's car.

does this happen when the car is running or only when the engine is off?

if its an issue with the car running then its possible the stereo is hooked into a wrong feed. tell him to get a 10 ga wire fromt the battery to the head unit with a fuse directly after the battery. the switch wire or ignition wire doesnt matter it takes no current. also he needs to run a seperate heavy wire for the amp or amps with a fuse directly after the battery. also fit a heavy ground to each ie head unit and amp. ground the head unit via direct connection to the case. the thin stock ground isn't enough.

if its a matter where it happens with engine off then its a weak battery.
