Default doing the research.

So since I am new to the 6G72 i am kind of lost of what to do so i want to do some research before I begin doing some modifications. Can anyone recomend any good books/sites, etc. So i can read up on the 6G72 and see how everything flows. As the saying goes "measure twice, cut once" Right now I think i have a pretty good idea of how things go, but the whole fuel system with dual fuel rails i feel uneasy about, allready wrecked a engine by screwing up fuel systems. I prefer not to go through that again.

Read this site when you start thinking of doing a modification.

Not sure what you mean that you feel uneasy about. What are you planning on doing to your engine?

Basically since i don't fully understand the fuel system or whats needed to run twin turbos, i'm only used to singles, I get uneasy about modifying them. I don't want to get a fuel system and then mess up my engine. (6G72's aren't cheap from what i've seen!) here is a basic list of what i'm planning on

TD04-19T's Turbo (TWINS!!)
3SX TD04 Headers
HKS Intake filter
IPS FMIC kit w/ HKS SSQV BOV
IPS Replacement Radiator/Upper Polished Pipe Package
Tanabe Exhaust Concept G-Blue

Spark Plug Wires NGK 9176
NGK spark plugs

Engine internals still researching

Fuel system??

twin turbo is really no different to single, the fueling is near on the same. if you goto stealth316.com you will find all the answers you need right there.

just because there is two turbos doesnt mean anything its just an easier way of doin it on a v6.

Your avatar says you have a 95 VR-4. Engine internals will be fine.

Have you modified your car at all? It sounds to me like you should step back and see exactly what you have, and make a plan of what you want to do.

You have a list there, but I think you are missing a few things if you haven't modified anything yet.

Yes, my car is...bone stock This is just some basic list i haven't included ECU's, clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, driveshaft, coils, Methanol Injection, brakes, suspension, tires/wheels, LSD,CF (pretty much everything including fenders and doors) Right now my biggest concern is the fuel, i hate dealing with it, I really wish i knew more... but this is all just getting preped for everything. not going to do the same with past projects and put 1 thing on at a time.

I believe the best way start modding this specific car is to read as much as you can here on the forum. The search option is a great feature that the forum has. Search by thread title, which i've found to work best. And you should be able to find any problems ppl have encounter or recommendations. If you're still having questions and thoughts on the mod you are trying to put then post a new thread asking for help. A forum member will gladly help you or even post a reference thread/site to wher eyou can read more on it and have a much better understanding.

In that case, I'd just take it to the nearest performance shop and forget about it.

And be prepared to spend a shitload, whether you take it to a shop or do the work yourself. And if you are so scared of the fuel, I'd recommend having some help. Basically, the ECU will control everything for you, once you tune it. I assume you are talking about the AEM EMS.

Also, go to the ECU Tuning section of 3Si and read there.

Well I give you big credit for being one of the few if not only new person on here to ask where he can do some researching about our cars before he gets into it. Usually it's a newbie making a new thread asking how he can make 500awhp on pump gas.

The bible for our cars would be Stealth 316 Home where you can just about learn about anything for our cars. The garage section is my favorite.

If yo can turn a wrench our cars are not tall that hard to work on. I would start by getting your car to BPU standards and work from there. Best of luck to ya and we're all here to help if needed.

Don't be scared away by the fuel system. All that's really needed when going with larger injectors is a piggyback system which basically fools the ecu into thinking you have stock injectors. You can go from the simplest to all out, it all depends on your ultimate goal. (Apexi SAFCII) (EManage) (AEM)
The SAFCII is the simplest to tune and can get you going easily. Keep in mine that if your not experienced in tuning best bet is to find someone that can help. A wide-band is worth the investment to help you along.
