Default Could bad axles cause my ECS to flash ?

I'm getting my 120k done and I asked my mechanic to check my suspension and he says the CV boots are done for and I should replace em. I figured as much but if my Axles are bad and my ECS is flashign would that mean my struts are bad too?

Or just my axels?

The bad CV boots shouldn't affect the ECS controller, it doesn't even have any means to monitor them. Bad struts is a possibility.

the litle black caps over the struts with the wire coming out of them is what causes your ecs to flash. the wires get pinched/damaged or rub through over time and eventually it stops working right and you have to get a new top with wiring. Leaning on these things while working in the engine bay will definatly screw them up too. Also the ecs unit could have gone bad or maybe even wiring to it. you never know until you start looking. most likely its the caps on top of the strut towers

my vote is the ecs ecu.....
just unplug it if the wires under the cap's are ok....the ecs ecu capacitors leak just like in the ecu's in early gt's....plus a bad ecs ecu can spike your main ecu and destroy it....don't take chances as 1st gen ecu's are getting hard to come by..

I had my 120k done today. I had the mechanic check it, he says my struts are fine.

it's in the right rear fender, behind the plastic in the trunk....if you unplug it, your car will go into default and stay in sport mode i believe......
not 100% sure though...honestly i never seen the point of the ecs....just unplug it and call it a day ...

I'd love to keep it since all of my previous cars have been relatively featureless and never had fancy gizmos like this.

I like the soft to firm ride with the push of a button, so I put new ecs struts on the car when it was lowered. If it is the ecs unit, you can likely buy one in the classified section, or ebay, from someone parting their car. But check the wires and connections on top of the struts first. The wires plug in to the top of the struts.

Yeah I checked my wires on my way back from the Mechanic.

They're plugged in ok.
