Do NOT buy the Injen intake. THey want a stupid amount for it just because it has the Injen name.

Injen couldn't even engineer the intake correctly. Its just a tube with a 90* bend. You have to use the stock piece that connects the MAS to the intake. They want like $175 for a piece of tubing I could buy from Summit for $20.

Seriously, get a cheapo generic ebay intake.

Hey, OP, you're in Columbus I see. Hopefully I'll see you around.

I would also suggest getting the el-cheapo ebay intake. The only worthwhile thing to spend money on would be buying a better quality filter than the one that comes with it. They can be had at your local Autozone, Advance, etc. We had a little get-together a month or so-ago, and i think 4 of the 6 cars there had the ebay intake, and nobody had any complaints.

Ok thanks Stealth E, i think i will go with the ebay style intake. I went with a ebay intake on my old car and it worked out pretty well so i will probably just do it again. I just didn't know if they were legit, but after reading this thread it looks like they are fine. Do you go to OSU by any chance? Just wondering cause i am going there this year and might see you around or something.

I do actually go to OSU Main campus, and there are more than a few OSU Newark guys locally too. There's pretty frequent activity in the Ohio 3si section of the board, check that every once in a while too. You'll probably see me more around campus once classes start again, my car's pretty loud so you might hear it sooner .

I think the only vendor that makes a true cold air intake for the 3S is Ultimate Performance. As everyone else has mentioned, a cold air intake is a waste of money considering that the stock intakes on 3S's are not that restrictive to begin with. Just buy a K&N filter or something similar and call it a day. An intake pipe is pretty much pointless on these cars unless you just want it for the looks and sound.

Yea thanks a lot, I'll be adding to that thread soon enough. One of the only improvements anybody suggested I make was to lower it, and I've been waiting to put my coilovers on once I get it back from a little paint repair. Once those are in I'll be pretty close to done with the car.

You'll find that going to school full time leaves more parts piling up than going on the car...priorities I guess .
