Default Check engine light need help desperately

i drive a 91 sl 112000 miles 5 speed. Check engine light is on, the main problem that we saw was there was no spark in coil C the one nearest to the radiator I gues cylinders 3 and 6 if I'm not mistaken, 2 weeks ago the car was fine although this problem would come and go away, but this time now it doesn't go away and the car is basically running on four cylinders no spark.

things my mechanic did, changed wires and plugs, changed to a brand new coil, changed the ptu, checked all the wires regarding the ptu and coil and still no spark, i know the next step is the ECU is the last step but im afraid what if I buy the ECU and still no spark. Would it be the CAM sensor? he said if it is the cam sensor the car wouldn not start. Is he right?
last thing, if the ECU was changed and still no spark, what else could cause this? is there a shop, or a mechanic who could fix this problem in the NYC tri state are? how much am I looking at? i dont want to give up on the car but Im really desperate now and this car is killing me making spend on parts that will not work through trial and error. pls help. thanks guys!!!!

Your car being a 91, I would pull the ECU and look for leaking capacitors.
Takes about 20 minutes and well worth the effort...

This should help....

Stealth 316 - ECM Removal

(Thanks Jeff!!!)

Double and triple check your timing belt. 3-6 drops out when the cam and crank sensors dont match.

so there could only be two things right? either the ECU or the timing belt.
is the CAM sensor out of the picture since the car starts and drives?

Also just for emergency purposes if my mechanic gives up on my car, do you guys know a mechanic or a shop in NYC that could fix this kind of problem. thanks for the reply guys!
