I have a couple of questions. My mechanic said he can hear my timing belt "flapping" meaning I need to replace it asap. Im at 60k miles exactly. Hopefuly no engine damage has been caused. Secondly he looked at my brake pads and said they were fine, yet I get a horrible squeling whenever I brake. Rotors shot maybe? Last question is I hear this almost thumping thudding noise when im driving, seems to be coming from a tire or wheel. The tires are new and pads are fine, only thing I can figure is something wrong with the shocks. Any insight, opinions or help would be appreciated. I got a quote on the timing belt and water pump together for 800 bucks, this includes a couple other new belts and ima have him look at the tensioner and pully as well.

regardless of what your mechanic hears, you need to have the timing belt changed. if/when it snaps the damage it will cause will far out weight the 800 to replace it now. the auto tensioner should be replaced at the same time (youll get lots of input on this one from board members real soon....)
if the pads are fine, the wear sensor might be alittle bent, causing it to prematurly squeak. the thumping noise, what speed, what rpm, accelerating, decelerating, cruising.

No it still does it when I apply the brakes. it is however more noticable when i go over a bump. It basically sounds like something rattling around, its very hard to explain. I removed everything from ym trunk, spare tire and all to eliminate those possibilities but it somehow seems suspension or drivetrain related. Im just clueless as well, it may not even be anything critical it just bugs me I can't figure out exactly where its coming from and what it is lol
