Default Car Alarm

Ok so I parked my car, got out, locked the doors using the automatic locks on the door, closed the door. Then I realize my phone was in my seat so I used the key to unlock the door, then I opened the door. The car alarm went off and so I got in and started the car and tried to find anything to push to turn it off.

How do I turn the damn thing off?

I popped the hood to disconnect the battery but as soon as I popped it, the alarm stopped going off...Any ideas?

Oooh, that sounds embarrassing lol. So you just closed the door, and locked the car with the key and then unlocked it with the key again?

It's being weird. Like, it goes off like 1 out of every 3 tries. I dunno if I'm doing something wrong or if somethin is wired wrong...

Where is the fuse box in the 3000GTs? And which fuse is for the car alarm? I'd like to pull the car alarm fuse for now cause it's acting up lol

Funny that I see this thread. I've never owned a hatchback before and never thought that it would be connected to the alarm (dumb n00b thought) and low and behold the alarm starts blaring when I opened it. I still had the manual which told me about the key. I don't know if it's related, but the manual talks about a 20 second "Grace Period" for the alarm...never heard of that on a car before. Maybe someone hear knows a little more about it?

I think it means after you lock and shut the door you cant open it for 20 seconds. Not even with the key. Because thats what sets mine off everytime

I've just been leaving the driver side door unlocked. Stupid but it's a temporary fix till I can find out how to disconnect the alarm. Today, I park it, turn it off and lock the doors. Like 10 seconds later it was going off while I was walking inside. It was pretty windy out so I dunno if that's what did it.
