Ok so I parked my car, got out, locked the doors using the automatic locks on the door, closed the door. Then I realize my phone was in my seat so I used the key to unlock the door, then I opened the door. The car alarm went off and so I got in and started the car and tried to find anything to push to turn it off.
How do I turn the damn thing off? I popped the hood to disconnect the battery but as soon as I popped it, the alarm stopped going off...Any ideas? |

Funny that I see this thread. I've never owned a hatchback before and never thought that it would be connected to the alarm (dumb n00b thought) and low and behold the alarm starts blaring when I opened it. I still had the manual which told me about the key. I don't know if it's related, but the manual talks about a 20 second "Grace Period" for the alarm...never heard of that on a car before. Maybe someone hear knows a little more about it?

I've just been leaving the driver side door unlocked. Stupid but it's a temporary fix till I can find out how to disconnect the alarm. Today, I park it, turn it off and lock the doors. Like 10 seconds later it was going off while I was walking inside. It was pretty windy out so I dunno if that's what did it.
