Default Can I use 235/45's and 245/45's on my VR4?

I finally got my VR4 running but now I need to address the tires before i put it on the road. I bought it with studded snow tires all around The guy gave me 2 Cooper Zeon Sports with it, size 245/45 RZ17. I found another 2 Cooper Zeon Sports for a good price but they are 235/45 RZ17. I know that the tires are supposed to be the same for the AWD, but I'm wondering if this combination of tires will work. My understanding is that the 245's are wider, but I don't see this as a problem. Please tell me what you think and if I am dead wrong or not. Thanks

No, sorry you can not. The middle number is the ratio, and when that width changes, the overall diameter changes. You need 2 more 245-45-17 tires, there is no way around it.

They're definitely a different diameter, like Monster Stealth said the second number is a ratio of the first.

The 245/45/r17 have a diameter of 25.6811.
The 235/45/r17 have a diameter of 25.3268.

This .3 difference is far to high to not cause damage.

Thanks guys. I've never had an AWD. I'll forget the 235's and find some 245's to match. Thanks again for the input.
