well, me and my dad took my car for a spin the other day, and noticed when we stepped on it, (i actually looked at the boost gague this time) and it went up to 20 psi! my dad said that's alot, so i wanted to see what everybody else considers "safe". i dont want the engine to blow or something along those lines, so, what do you think? to high? could go higher? what? thanks in advance!

Assuming you're on a stock setup, yes too high. Usually safe to run 9B's around 12-13psi safely. If you're datalogging and monitoring everything, people often run ~15psi.

The factory gauge is off. I have a autometer hooked up as with the factory and the stocker is not even close at least on mine. 12 pounds of boost pegs my factory one. I would put in a manual gauge and see where your at.

so 15 psi at max should be good? (i dont even know if it's stock or not. my dad doesn't want to call the owner untill we have the registration and title, just in case). i would have called him myself, but i don't think he/she would buy it. "hey, im pj prendergast. im 15, live in new york, and i bought your car off of ebay." not too convincing. and i know, there is an "autometer" brand boost gague in the car. but, as soon as i find out what this thing really has under the hood, i will set it to like 13 psi. but one thing we did was we took out the turbo timer, but how would that affect it? and my dad aparently took it out again today, and driving it up the street (not revving it out alot, but still up there) it would cut out, like a rev limiter, except for the boost, or like grabing the brakes suddently, and then letting off a second later. this hasn't happened before out of all the the other times we took it out for a joy ride. so, im starting to get a little nervous with this car, i dont want to kill such an awesome ride, especially doing something stupid like not knowing why it blew up at 20psi for example. has anyone had that happen before? (the cutting out type thing i stated?)
