Default bad tps???? does it cause the engine to stall????

so ive been having idling issues and stalling issues. i have cleaned and checked resistance on the iac it was good. but people recommanded to buy a new one. so i bought a new one from rockauto. put it on with a brand new o-ring gasket. car still stalls..

this is during cold starts. when i start it up and try to give it some throttle. the throttle would NOT respond, and the engine stalled. so giving it throttle to keep the engine going doesnt work. is it a bad tps?

Have you tested anything..? do you have any reason to suspect a TPS? Are there any codes?

Have you adjusted the minimum idle to spec, and checked/adjusted the idle switch? have you checked for boost leaks?

I was told sometimes the dashpot would stick (little black hat thing attached to the throttle body), but I don't know if that would cause your problem.

i made a pressure tester with a tire stem. and i have a 12v compressor. i plugged it in and the gauge on the compressor didnt read anything. i asked if there are any hoses i need to pull off and plug for the pressure test nobody answered me... last week when the car actually ran it had no codes.

and on 3si wiki it said only to adjust whatever the idling screw is ONLY when the car warms up... i couldnt even get it to warm up plus when i first got the car the idle was perfect and i never touched the idle adjusting screw so im assuming its within specs.

Rob Beck has some pretty good info in his procedure notes for his pressure tester.

http://www.3si.org/forum/f4/intake-p...-t6061-206269/

Getting the idle switch set correctly, and setting the minimum idle correctly when warm, will effect how the computer reacts to a cold start

i remember there were 2 that affects idle one was called the biss and another called the sas. 3s wiki said not to touch the biss at all unless i know someone have messed around with it before. the sas was the one that 3s wiki said only to adjust when warm.

are you speaking of the sas?

I've been going through the same thing... Does your car stall after a certain number of seconds? Cause that's what mine has been doing, first we replaced the MAF and now it seems to think the injector is the problem. Any updates?

Have you check to see if your connectors are fully engaged on the VIC motor on the driver side of the intake plenum?

Do you hear any clicking or buzzing when it stalls, either in the bay, or inside the car?
