I've got a 94 base model rebuilt 6k miles ago with minor body damage (its an SOHC) but still I cant even get 2k for it so search around. I understand what your saying however it is a bit over priced IMHO

How is your 94 Base a SOHC when all bases were DOHC until 97?

I would say get the SL. But dont bother TT'ing it, especially in the service. I'm also in the marines and I can vouch (especially as an E-3 and below) You won't have near enough time/money to do that man. I own an SL atm but am selling it and goin Vr-4/TT (soon hopefully). Get the SL and get familiar with it. Don't make any stupid impulse buys. I know it's cool to "have the fastest car" and all that but after a couple years in the service when you make more money and have more time, and more knowledge of the car sell the SL and get the Vr-4/TT. This is my best advice from personal experience.
Re: 3000 GT SL Twin Turbo same as Vr4 Twin Turbo Almost?
i'm going to weigh in on the side of the vast MINORITY.
i have a fwd-tt ATX. it's an awesome dd.
you can buy fwd-tt's for <$6500. for 4 grand, your friend COULD have tt'd that car. it's just not really worth it. you can get 99 bases for ~5k, and 99 SL's for sometimes ~8-9k.
you're young and new to this game. if you're looking for a reliable, fun car--my advice is to start with an n/a DOHC. if you're looking for something to tinker on while you drive something else--get a vr4. worst case with an n/a, there are PLENTY of people/shops on here that can perform a tt-conversion to your n/a. i had my car for over 4 years before i got it tt'd. it took 2 years to get most of the age-related kinks worked out of her. she's the most reliable car i could imagine now.
two final things:
1. fwd-tt's can hold up to 300fwhp just fine. put 275's or 295's on it, and you'll have much better traction.
2. atx is worlds of fun. until you've driven a fwd-tt atx (or awd atx-tt) you can't knock it. it's not better or worse than MTX, it's just different. and yes, selecting "pwr" shift points & turning O/D off makes my car accelerate very, VERY quickly. but...if MTX is what you want, start with an mtx car.

Where the hell do you live? i was 18 when i got my 91 stealth TT and my ins was only 1200 a year. Now it dropped to like 620 (im 19)
and as for the guy who said you can pull into a dealer and have then finish a job your too lazy to finish...where can you do this? I work at a dodge dealer and they couldnt find me Any parts, even a T-case for the recall.

better make sure that engine has a transferable warranty from the shop that did it. If i was going to pay to put an engine in (which, i would never do because luckily enough, im mechanically inclined) i wouldnt do it just to sell it 2 weeks later and make 2500.
