Default 3000 GT SL Twin Turbo same as Vr4 Twin Turbo Almost?

Im about to purchase this car and i was wondering, i really wanna get a Vr4 but they cost a little but more than the SL and my freind is selling me his SL and its great. But if i put a twin turbo in it will it compare to the Vr4 with twin turbo?

You'll end up spending more than you would if you just bought a VR4, just fyi.

Although, in theory it'd be faster than a VR4, less weight, and less drivetrain drag.

oh, you have much to research...

just buy a VR-4...

but, if you're DD'ing this car...

go with a N/A DOHC or even better SOHC...

I had a really nice post written, but hit the wrong button on my mouse and I lost it. damn.

SL TT conversion is faster than a VR4 because it weighs less and has less drivetrain to spin. It also has less traction, and it'll eat your money unless you do a lot of parting out and get lucky with buying stuff.

My suggestion is to hold on to your money and find a VR4 in good shape and buy that if you want a TT.

why would it cost more? does Vr4 already have twin turbo? cause my freind is selling me his for 6500 and he just spent 4k on putting a new engine in it and the transmission got rebuilt before he bought it. so how much would a twin turbo cost me to put in this SL?

VR4 has the Twin Turbo already, yes.

I'd estimate 2 grand at the minimum to install (wild guess, but it's probably reasonably close). Not worth it when you can get a damn good condition 1G VR4 for that price.

If you're gonna Daily Drive it, I'd suggest buying an SL, less stuff to break.

Best? Depends what you're trying to accomplish.

First car? I'd definitely suggest an SL. If I had a VR4 as my first car, I'd probably have done even stupider shit than I did with my Supra (N/A, so it wasn't very fast, lol). I never really did anything illegal, just really stupid things.
