Sounds like you got a great deal. You will have your work cut out for you when it comes time do the install.
Thats good to be prepared that way you will have your parts on hand once you get to that point. Is Rockville, IPS Motorsports? |

Are you doing a 120K or a rebuild? You wouldn't need to add much more than a set of rings, head gasekts, and a rear main seal to your list to go ahead and do a rebuild. And to replace all the stuff you listed, you'd be better off pulling the engine out of the car anyway.

I would definatley pull the engine if I were you. I did everything on your list minus the rod bearing/main bearings/thrust washers but I did VSS/3rd gen lifters/motor mounts. Since you are doing cam seals you are going to have to pull out the cams which is great for doing 3rd gen lifters but the VSS is still a PITA with the engine in the car. (Check out the group buy section for a great deal on 3rd gen lifters) Pull the engine and whoever is working for you will thank you later.

Pulling the engine is what...a 3 hour job with hand tools when you know what you are doing? I don't hardly do ANYTHING without pulling then engine...makes for good practice and a clean job.

Zeph do you do all your own work? Have you had any practice replacing the throw out bearing? On start up mine is making some noise. When the clutch is in no more noise. After I drive around for about 5 minutes the noise disappears altogether.
