Default 1 coil no spark 91 SL

help pls.I drive a 91 sl manual 112,000 miles. i dont know anything about cars.
when i start the car during morning the rpm is at 2000 and it idles fine. after 5mins the rpm goes less than 750 and the engine chokes and idles bad, engine light is on . its drivable biut there is no power in the car. but sometimes the power will comeback.

i took it to a shop and the mechanic told showed me there was no spark in 1 of the coil and he said that might be the problem. I am hoping it is a coil problem because i have read in the forums that it might be a cam sensor or ECU too. how do you know if it is a cam sensor problem. what could be the problem causing to my car. can anybody pls help me thanks.

also how much is the labor to replace the cam sensor and why is the 1st gen cam sensor $400?

how much is the labor to change one of the coils.

One of my coils went out when I got the car. Cost me $100 to get a Non OEM one from an auto parts store then 20 mins to put it on. All you have to do is take off the Upper Intercooler piping and Radiator hose and then just take a phillips screwdriver to it and I think a 8mm wrench. Then slap the other one on, put the hoses back where they go and you are done. Cake.

(It was a temp fix, I later went on to purchase brand new OEM coil packs just to be safe. Which ran about 175 believe it or not for all 3. And took the other one back and got my money back)

k thanks for the advice. Hopefully it is just a coil problem andnot a cam sensor or ECU. By the way how much is the labor to install a new radiator. I have the parts. Is it hard to install a radiator? how much is a reasonable charge for a personal mechanic to install it? thx in advance

Not sure but doesnt look that hard at all, just draining the coolant, taking off the upper and lower hoses, removing the top brackets and maybe a couple of bolts holding the rest of it on. I wouldn't have them charge me over 65 bucks, but then again I'd do it myself. And No problem, hope my info helps.
