Default touchup paint before polish/wax?

My boss has an orbital buffer and said he'll help me wash/polish/wax my car - I got a few nicks in the paint though and want to take care of them. Didn't get around to it yet due to cold weather and then other more important (go fast) mods. Should I apply the touch up paint before or after I buff/wax/etc?

yes. Paint doesn't stick well to wax

That's what I thought. My boss said otherwise, but I wanted to make sure. Note: print and bring 3/s wiki guide to detailing, do not trust boss' judgment.

If your boss says to apply touch up paint after a polish and wax I sure wouldn't let him touch my paint.

If your boss suggest touching up the paint after the wax job, I would find someone else with an orbital buffer.

Can I not just do it myself? He'll probably let me just use it.

Edit: Looked up directions for touch up paint, it said not to wax for one month after applying. Oh well, I can wait.

There is no reason you can't do it on your own. Just have to be careful around the edges of panels and high crown areas.

You should wait about 30 days before waxing to allow for the evaporation of the solvents in the paint. You can cut down the time if you have access to a heat lamp used for curing paint. Then it would only be about 30 minutes.
