I recently bought a shogun look alike bumper from Andys Auto Sports made out of fiberglass and carbon fiber. I thought I would be able to put it on myself but barely anything lines up. I was wondering if their was anyone out there that had identical problems when putting their after market bumper on and the solutions you used to make it fit right. Thanks a lot

What do you mean FG and CF? Is it a CF look or is this for reinforcement?
BTW Is it grossly oversized at or near the upper corners or at the turn signals(1st.Gen.maybe)? Meaning you'd have to push the sides in a lot to get it to fit. Years ago my cousin had an e-bay shogun that was like this. But we never knew if it was an "Andy's" or not.I ended up making him a new one. ![]() |

Hey....thanks for trying to help me out. Heres the link so you can get a better idea of what I'm talking about. Andy's Auto Sport Combat Bomb Body Kit - Front Bumper for 91-93 Mitsubishi 3000gt at Andy's Auto Sport It doesnt come with turn signal slots which I failed to realize when i was buying it so I'm probably going to end up doing the same thing as in the picture there. Right now it is on my car and doesnt look to bad but its on with 6 bolts and its just a temporary fix until I find someone to help or someplace to do it. Im trying to get a rough idea on how much this would cost to get it to fit my car and on right....do you have a rough idea? Thanks a lot

If you are talking about the bumper on the car that is on his sig thats a stock bumper for the 99 3000gt. One question, why did you get that bumper?? Last edited by Murcielago : 05-17-2008 at 02:03 PM. |

As Murcielago said my bumper is stock for a 99 3000GT. There was no massaging that needed done or any fitment issues.
The shit Andy's sells is knock offs of knock offs. As I said you get what you pay for. Before I put the 99 front on I had an Extreme Dimensions kit on my car. It fit damn near perfect. Why? Because I spent more money on that kit than most people would like to know about. The only modification I had to do was cut my stock crash bar as the bumper would not fit around it. In my opinion the bumper you chose is the absolute most hideous bumper available for the 3s. You already spent $200 on the bumper, I bet another $150 on shipping, and its going to most likely cost $300-$400 to get it to fit properly (labor isnt cheap), and THEN you are still going to have to get it painted you are going to have an ugly (again thats my opinion and most of 3si's) expensive front bumper. Why ruin stock body lines? I am not a personal fan of first gens myself because I dont like pop ups but the stock front bumper absolutely blows that one out of the water in the looks department. Also, fiberglass bumpers are a target for absuse. It doesn't matter how much you are careful you will crack it on something. My opinion is to cut your losses and sell the bumper to someone (Informing them of the poor fitment issues of course) and keep your stock bumper. Your sanity will thank you. |
