Thanks GTO0326, SmoothGT and everyone else.

98slept: LOL no that aint a immigrant filled bodyshop... we are located in New Delhi, India Just to let you know i am a grad in Automotive Engineering from Western Michigan, but my calling lay elsewhere... back home!

inperfectdarkness, RebelExtrm02, Damon: Well it is looking angular for now, but belive me the final version wont be so much, this is just the base design, the finishing is yet to happen... all those lines will be smoothned out and the curves will come out then. But i agee, i dont intend to make it as rounded as the original because a widebody fender of this proportion cannot be achieved by just bloating the original shape, the wheel arc will come out just too far out. The only reason it is angular is because i wanted to make the door extension and the lines have to carry the design forward.

Moich, windsma: Just to let you know there is no need to worry about the materials as the entire thing will be cast in fiberglass which will make the bumpers, fenders and side skirts weigh less than the original. On the rear though i will be adding the fiberglass panels on to the existing side panels and boot which will add a few pounds there.

Also to mention, the point here is not to emulate a corvette or a ferrari or a 350Z. The whole exercise is just my point of view on what i would want my car to look like and in the process, prove my skills as a custom car shop owner! Im sure one design will not appeal to all, since it is a very personal opinion. I can say that for a fact because i have designed atleast 20 other bodykits and there are always mixed reactions, but i guess so far we have been pretty successful at whatever we have tried, and ill hope so too with this project. This is my personal car and will become our company demo car so im putting the best of my mind into it. Once more thanks for all of your support and creative criticism

Cheers,
Arush

no. you couldn't "bloat" the original shape. because originally, there's practically no "flare" to our wheel housings. but yet, jacquemond still managed to pull off his front fenders without a crease.....

I dont remember the exact shape of the one youre talking abot but as far as i remember in that case the top half of the fender is the same, its extended outwards on the sides... i couldnt have done the same as i have to extend the flare on to the doors and its a totally different design theme altogether so the two are incomparable

More progress... im sure inperfectdarkness would love to see the less angular fenders and doors! Also did a small addition, added a small '99 style mouth extension to the front bumper. The side skirts are now flush with new lower door panels.

Cheers,
Arush

<==== One of the fans of Chris Bangle's BMW restyling.

I like the subdued creases. If done correctly it'll have some Bangle "flame surfacing" influence to it. These types of widebodies look better in my opinion than the bloated hippo fenders you see on some cars.

hey, whatever floats your boat man. it's your car. i salute your skill.

i like a car where the shell looks like they placed a cockpit in the middle of 4 wheels--and then heat-shrink-wrapped the entire thing. bulges for the cabin and wheels, and the rest is smoothly transitioned with no creases, lines, or ribs.

Looks great!
Are you going to do anything for a rear spoiler? IMO a rear lip, like the Viper has, would be amazing.
